Helping, Today, to Educate Tomorrow’s Preservation Leaders
The 9th Baron Historical Preservation Scholarship will be awarded annually to a deserving student, from MacDuff or Banff, who plans on studying Scottish history, historic preservation, or a related field.

Students will apply for the £2,500 scholarship, which can be applied to tuition expenses (if any), accommodation, board, or books, by submitting an essay that should include, but not be limited to, the following elements:

1. The importance of preservation, to the student.
​
2. What the student plans on studying, specifically.
​
3. How the student sees themselves applying what they will learn, in their future preservation efforts.
​
References from others, who support the students efforts, are encouraged. Essays should be between 500 and 1000 words.
If no submissions that meet the above-referenced criteria are received, the scholarship may not be awarded. The recipient of the scholarship, will be chosen at the sole discretion of the Baron of MacDuff.
